What Great Things Have You Done This Year? What Are Your Goals?
This year has barely started, but here we are staring down a new month. I find that keeping a list is beneficial to helping me stay on track–and MOTIVATED. I love checking things off, too. To live a great life, you have to decide what a great life is. What does living it up mean to you?
My List. So far, I:
- Started this blog.
- Learned about more about web-based businesses (without programmer b-friend, HAH!)
- Learned new techniques with camera.
- Made new friends.
- Tried new restaurants for the soon to be reopened Jotted Notes.
- Learned to make new concoctions.
- Picked up beading & jewelery making.
- Revamped resume.
- Bought rug (finally)!
- Went tubing–took Darling Son.
- Signed up for millionbloglist.com . I’m # 2360.
Plans for soon:
- Learn to knit.
- Design books.
- Start screen printing business.
- Practice languages (Spanish, French, & *new* Cherokee)
- Create ‘green’-er house.
- Design multimedia educational games.
- Re-open Jotted Notes (solo venture…)
- Get body swimsuit ready.
- Sell motorcycle parts.
- Focus this blog on lifestyle issues.
- Return to grad school.
- Pick up golf.
- Refresh tennis skills.
- Teach DS cultural heritage based on oral traditions (stories & songs).
- Book club with DS (& maybe neighbor?)
- Reinstate Friday night family movies!
- Take DS tubing down the river.
- Teach DS how to ride horses Western style.
Make your own list of important things to do. Don’t make them all completely out-there. Make some that you really intend to accomplish. Don’t forget to include goals that are just for you. “Selfish” goals aren’t necessarily a bad thing. When you take time to revive yourself, your ability to do other tasks improves. Keep more noble goals, but add in those “no higher purpose” items to your list, too. They matter.
Do you notice a theme in your goals? Have you accomplished any of your goals? Allow yourself to feel fantastic for succeeding at a goal. Share your goals with others. Doing so makes your hopes real and keeps you going. Share your plans here. Let us know about your successes. I would love to hear from you.

Those are really great ideas for staying organized. I’ve always been a paper-clutter collector, myself, and I have found the in-box/complete box to be a great time saver in between filings. Once you get the organization started, maintaining it becomes much easier. That is, as long as you can get everyone else in the household to follow along.
I wish you great luck and an organized house…
